Imperial armour 12

Well with imperial armour 12 just over the horizon, I thought I'd give my thoughts on it...

And my thoughts are quite good, at £48.00 (don't know in dollars) a reasonable price compared to other imperial armour books. Read through the context page and includes not 1, but 2 army lists and new units and background for; space marines, death korps of krieg and necrons. But in my opinion not enough new necron units, a few more would be nice, considering this is the first time forge world has properly worked on necrons. Haven't seen the rules yet, so could be interesting there. But I am definitely going to get myself a copy of this book.

So what do you think of imperial armour 12? And do you want me to do a unit breakdown of the new units?

Ogres, my thoughts and comments

I played a 2000pts game last night, using ogres and went up against dwarfs. It was a hard fought and fun game.

It was my first game using ogres, as I borrowed my friends army. Thoughts at the start of the game; not good ironblaster killed itself on turn 1 and my maneaters with golgfag failed 3 charges in a row.

But by the end of turn 5, I had wiped out: 3 cannons and 2 organ guns, mainly down to my 2 units of 4 leadbelchers, who just kept on rolling 6s to wound.

We played to the death and I sadly lost, but he only had a handful of warriors, a thane untouched and his dwarflord with 1 wound left by the end. That's the best I've played against my friend, as I usually play high elves and only kill about 12 models before he tables me.

Thoughts; even though the ogres weren't up against an easy opponent for them, they still performed very well, so I can just imagine what they'd be like up against a combat army. So the ogres are fairly competitive and still fun to play with and against at the same time, which is pretty much what people ask for in an army.

My 1000 points tournament Necrons

Below are some photos of my Necron army that I took to a competition way back in January. The competition was held at warhammer world and was an invasion.

The list I took was as follows:
Overlord, warscythe, MSS, sempiternal weave and res. orb

2 stormteks

5 warriors in a ghost ark

5 warriors in a ghost ark

5 warriors in a night scythe

Doom scythe

Annihilation barge

It performed fairly well, winning 2 out of 3 games, keeping me on the top tables for the whole competition. And also being one of the most feared armies, according to my last opponent, who beat me 8 to 7 on victory points.

First post

So this is the first post of my blog and this is also my first ever blog. So a whole new experience, this could be fun.

As you've probably guessed already my blog will be all about 40k and possibly a bit of fantasy, but mostly 40k. I have been playing 40K now for just over 5 years and still enjoy playing it as much as I did the first time. I play space marines, imperial guard, grey knights, orks and necrons. Currently I'm playing with my necrons most of the time, so most posts about army progress for now will most likely be about necrons. But nonetheless I can easily do tactics for most armies. I will include pictures throughout my posts, or at least try to fit in as many as I can. Don't expect pro painting guides, I can give tips on painting, but I'm not that good of a painter, my heart goes out to the gaming side.

I will post a fair bit in the next couple of weeks, but then slow it down due to exams. I will always try to post at least once a week however.

So please follow my blog and post a comment below of what future posts you want me to do.
